The two concessionary companies Sitrasb and Tunnel have always paid great attention to maintaining and reinforcing technical equipment within the tunnel in order to ensure the highest levels of safety. Modern control rooms located in the stations at the entrances on either side of the Tunnel oversee the equipment and traffic flow through Great St Bernard Tunnel. All data regarding tunnel equipment, alarm systems and emergency calls is conveyed to the 24/24 manned control rooms. A state-of-the-art CCTV system has made traffic flow management and installation operations safer and more reliable.
